Today I’m posting progress shots from “Sentry" from my solo show #Aurora at Thinkspace Gallery, open till August 3rd. This is the first stage, after i transfer the sketch Im using pencil and acrylic washes. I’m not trying to reach perfect tones, just trying to separate light from shadow and the basic tonal structure. I’m trying to get the construction and anatomy as best I can too. I’m also rendering the form using hatching, trying to sculpt the form with lines of the pencil. It’s all just making an underlayer.
